Community
Involvement
As
a result of the merger, tenants of both The Ridings and West
Yorkshire had to agreed how they wanted their voice to be
heard. Progress in building links between tenant groups across
Connect's area of operation has been rapid, supported by the
Community Involvement Team.
Connect
Residents Federation (CRF) has quickly established a strong
voice for teantns within Connect Housing. The CRF's membership
and Committee includes tenants from across Leeds, Kirklees
and Calderdale. Connect has agreed a Tenant Compact with the
Federation.
The
CRF plays an active part:
- on contractor
review panels for the main repairs contracts and communal
service contracts;
- on the
Service Improvement Forum core group which agrees annual
programmes of focus groups open to all tenants;
- as observers
on the Board;
- on working
groups alongside staff and board members, focusing on equality
and diversity, anti-social behaviour and other key issues.
